The Gateway Chapter of Trout Unlimited (TU) would like to invite you to our second annual fundraising dinner on Friday, February 17th 2017 at Tapawingo National Golf Club in Sunset Hills, Missouri. The event begins at 6pm and will be an exciting evening filled with raffles, auctions, food, and drinks overlooking a beautiful golf course.

Funds raised will ensure that Gateway TU can continue its mission to conserve, protect and restore Missouri’s cold water fisheries and their watersheds.

Our featured speaker for the evening will be Trout Unlimited’s President & CEO, Chris Wood.

Before coming to Trout Unlimited in September 2001, Chris Wood served as the senior policy and communications advisor to the Chief of the U.S. Forest Service where he helped protect 58 million acres of publicly owned land. Chris began his career as a temporary employee with the Forest Service in Idaho and also worked for the Bureau of Land Management. He is the author and co-author of three books including, Watershed Restoration: Principles and, From Conquest to Conservation: Our Public Land Legacy, and My Healthy Stream: A handbook for streamside owners.

This will be a great opportunity to hear from the nation’s most influential and effective advocates for cold water conservation.

The mission of Trout Unlimited, to conserve, protect and restore cold water fisheries and their watersheds is especially important and relevant in Missouri. We are blessed to have an abundance of springs that produce millions of gallons of cold and clean water that foster healthy trout populations. From stocked fish in managed trout areas to the handful of streams that support naturally reproducing trout, outdoorsmen and their families have a variety of opportunities to choose from.

These opportunities all revolve around one key element; clean, cold water.

Please join us on Friday, February 17th to welcome Chris Wood and learn more about the importance of conserving our cold water resources and how TU is making a difference.

This event would not be possible without the help of our donors, a list of which is provided below. If you have a chance, please help support them as they have helped to support your local chapter of Trout Unlimited.

Because individual ticket sales are priced to only cover event expenses, we are not only relying on our membership to attend but also to donate items for a silent auction, which will be held the night of the event. The auction and raffle items will be our biggest fundraiser of the year and will help us reach our annual goal of raising $15,000 to help sustain the Gateway Chapter of Trout Unlimited in the future.

Please support our Chapter by donating gift certificates, merchandise, sports memorabilia, tickets, vacation homes, services, or anything else you can think of that might raise funds for the Chapter. Donated items do not have to be fishing-related. Your name and donation will be recognized on our website and will be displayed next to your item the night of the event. In addition to your donation, please consider contacting friends or businesses in your community who might be interested in donating an item. A portion of your donation may be tax deductible, and you will be provided with the appropriate tax documentation with each donation upon request. Active participation from our membership is vital to the success of this event.

To donate, please send an email (tcalca24@gmail.com).  You may drop off your item(s) at any upcoming Chapter event, or upon request, we will gladly make arrangements to have your item picked up.

Thank you for your consideration,

Ted Calcaterra
