GTU Board Members Work GTU Table at Missouri EarthShare Event

In an effort to get out and meet other conversation minded organizations in the St. Louis area, Wallis Warren and myself were able to set up a Gateway Chapter of Trout Unlimited table at the Missouri EarthShare program at the Missouri Botanical Gardens on Saturday, April 27, 2013.  It was a rainy and cool day, which kept some of the crowd away, but it was a great opportunity to help fill a Ozark Council of Trout Unlimited commitment to the EarthShare program as well as meet other conservation minded people and tell them a little about our organization and what we hope to accomplish. Inaugural Chapter Meeting & Drift Boat Rodea A Huge Success

Over 80 members of the Gateway Chapter of Trout Unlimited turned out for the inaugural meeting of the chapter.  The night started with a car show of sorts, for drift boats we deemed a “Drift Boat Rodeo”.  We had six drift boats set up in the parking lot of Mike Duffy’s Bar and Grill in Kirkwood, Missouri for members to check out before and after the meeting.  Drift boats are becoming a popular tool for ozark anglers and we are seeing more and more of them on some of our local waters.
